I had to leave a review so I could remember where to go if I’m ever in the area again. This was one of my favorite meals that I’ve had while travelling throughout Europe. After making sure they were okay with substitutions on the menu, I had pork Schnitzel and substituted the fries for spaetzle and asked for some mushroom gravy. They were happy to accommodate the changes and I can’t stop thinking about how good it was!

Very nice Franconian restaurant. We enjoy local dishes with red beer and local white wine Silvaner. You can have pork, duck, deer and brandwurst in an nice enviroment.
One of the most authentic Franconian eateries in Nürnberg, serving hearty dishes and truly memorable flavors. I came here twice during my visit, and both times the food and beer were absolutely outstanding. Portions are generous, perfect for sharing, and their selection of Franconian beers is rich, smooth, and exactly what you’d hope to find in this region. The wooden-hut interior gives the place a warm, rustic charm, almost like stepping into an old Franconian tavern. It feels cozy, homy, and full of character. Expect a lively crowd in the evenings. Nonetheless, the energy adds to the whole experience and makes the atmosphere even more authentic. A must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy great Franconian cuisine, excellent beer, and a warm, lively tavern feel.
Best place we ate in Nuremberg! You must get the pork belly. So crispy and flavourful. We also got the schnitzel which was delicious!
The pork shoulder was delicious — crispy skin, tender meat, and a very generous portion. The beer was also great, and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Traditional cuisine can be found in this restaurant near the castle. The ambience is very cosy and it did not feel touristy. I ordered the pork shoulder, which was cooked perfectly, although in my opinion the meat below the crusty fat was a bit bland.The potato dumplings and the meat juice were very good. Friendly service.
I ordered the fish dish and the portion was too large for me. The fish itself was delicious, very soft and fresh. The vegetables were drenched in oil and not pleasurable. The place is quite popular with the locals to try the typical Schäufele, would recommend to try.
Perfect place for local food, great atmosphere. The manager was polite and gave Us Chocolate for the kids. You miss one star because some of your stuff is impolite with families with kids and they speak german even though they know english. Believe it or not english is global language, i could order in greek but i didnt.
